Prior to his legal education, Andrew completed his undergraduate studies at Cleveland State University in 2017, graduating with a major in Finance. Andrew gained practical experience working at the Office of Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement. In this capacity, he provided invaluable mentorship, coaching, and guidance to non-traditional students, first-generation students, and those transitioning from foster care backgrounds. Additionally, Andrew was a member and President of the Fraternity Sigma Tau Gamma.

Complementing his academic and professional achievements, Andrew furthered his legal skills through an esteemed internship opportunity with the Honorable Christopher Rothgery at the Lorain County Common Pleas Court. Andrew Ortner earned his law degree from Dickinson Law at Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated 20th in his class. While attending law school, Andrew was a research assistant for Professor Medha Makhlouf. Andrew conducted research for Professor Makhlouf for various projects, including the published article “The Public Charge Rule as Public Health Policy.” Andrew was also the Chair of the National Trial Team at Dickinson Law School as well as the Chair of the Judicial Board at Cleveland State University. Additionally, Andrew tutored law students, was Treasurer for The Environmental Justice Society, and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
